| Description |
Promontory Point is located on the southern tip of the Promontory mountain range. Named because of the large promontory projecting south into the Great Salt Lake. Promontory famous for being the location where the last spike connecting the Central Pacific and the Union Pacific railroads was driven in 1869. |
