Two letters from Marriner S. Eccles to economist John Kenneth Galbraith. The second letter, dated 11 July 1967, is in response to a column by James Reston about Galbraith's proposal for getting the United States out of the Vietnam War. Includes a copy of Reston's piece published on 9 July 1967 in the San Francisco Chronicle, and an article by Galbraith published on Jan. 9, 1968, entitled "Plea to Business: ‘Make yourself heard." That article discusses implications of President Johnson's plans to curb foreign investment and travel in connection with the Vietnam War and the Cold War. |
