The University of Utah School of Medicine has received the first payment on a $100,000 pledge from Becton-Dickinson and Company in support of the Maxwell M. Wintrobe, M.D., Presidential Endowed Chair in Hematology. Creation of the chair by Becky Z. Wintrobe, widow of the renowned hematologist who was a longtime U of U faculty member, was announced last June by U President Chase N. Peterson. Income from the endowment will support a distinguished faculty member in hematology. |
