Additional Information Image was scanned from color slide. Note: The Japanese garden Kenrokuen is located in Kanazawa, Japan and is considered one of the three great gardens of Japan. It was constructed and developed from 1620 to 1840. Originally, Kenrokuen garden was the outer garden of Kanazawa Castle. In 1874, the garden was opened to the public--Wikipedia. Note: According to the ancient Chinese book of gardens, there are six different sublime qualities to which a garden can aspire. Grouped in their traditional complementary pairs, they are: spaciousness & seclusion, artifice & antiquity, water-courses & panoramas."Kenroku-en" literally means "garden that combines six characteristics."--Kenrokuen Garden official website.
