Show 2 developed by Tokyo Gas is the combustion technique to regulate the NOx emission into an extremely low level, it achieves 85 ppm (02=0%) or less, at the furnace temperature of 1300t, and pre-heated air temperature of 650°C. Recently, the burners which integrates regenerator coming to be used for getting 20 to 30% higher energy saving characteristics than the recuperators. When this burner is used at the furnace temperature of 1300t, the pre-heated air temperature reaches 1000'C or more. Under such a severe condition, the conventional low NOx technique can not confonn with the NOx emission regulation of Japan. Here, the new system, applied the FDI combustion to regenerative system, has been developed. We would like to introduce the development and experiment results obtained by our experimental furnace, as well as the field test results at the actual furnaces applying the subject system. 1. REGENERATIVE SYSTEM The regenerative system has been developed in England some 10 years ago, for super high efficiency combustion system widely applicable to the almost all of industrial furnace, and has populized mainly in U.S.A. and Europe.
