This photograph is a copy of the original and is in good condition. On the back of the photo, inscribed in pen, is: "Milton C. Ballenger," "Milton C. Ballenger," "1957-1961". There is also yellow adhesive brushed onto the back of the photo. Ballenger served as the Dean of Westminster College from 1957 to 1961, during which he also lectured in education and philosophy. He was born on April 21, 1918, in Spartanburg, South Carolina and was an ordained Baptist minister. He received an A.B. from William Jewell College, an M.A. from Yale University, and also a Ph.D. from Yale University. Before serving as the Dean of Westminster, Ballenger served in various secular, ministry, and education roles, including serving as the Dean of Larson College in New Haven, Connecticut. In 1959, while he was the Dean of Westminster College, the title of "Dean" was changed to "Academic Vice-President". Ballenger resigned as Academic Vice-President in 1961 to take the position of Dean at Jamestown College. |
