| Description | One of the biggest and most successful business adventures of William S. Henderson was the building of the lower and upper Uintah Camp Cabins, now the Antler Motel and the Dinosaur Motor Lodge. This project began in 1929 when he built the first cabins east of the city park. When he sold all his business interests in 1940 he was the owner of 65 modern camp cabins. These cabins were used by many travelers and workers in the area. One article in told of Mr. and Mrs Junius Jackson of Leota bringing their oldest son to Vernal for medical services. They stayed at the cabins while in Vernal. The east cabins became the Dinosaur Inn owned by Royal Henderson and has been kept in that family to the present. The west cabins were sold to Byron C. Jones and by 1948 he sold to Clayton Simmons. |
