Description Primary pseudotumor cerebri syndrome is also known as Idiopathic Intracranial Hypertension (IIH). IIH occurs when there is increased intracranial pressure with normal-sized ventricles on neuroimaging, normal cerebrospinal fluid contents, normal neurological examination besides abducent nerve palsy with no identifiable secondary cause. It is a diagnosis of exclusion. It could be a diagnostic challenge in resource-poor regions of the world such as in Sub-Saharan Africa. Interestingly there is a paucity of data on IIH in Nigerians living in the Northern part of the country. The aim of this study was to evaluate the demographic characteristics and clinical features of patients presenting with IIH in Northern Nigeria.
