Subject Neurofibromatosis Type 1; Optic Pathway Glioma; Systemic Chemotherapy; Vision Loss Risk
Description Vision loss occurs in nearly one-half of neurofibromatosis type 1 (NF-1) children with an optic pathway glioma (OPG), and is the main indication for systemic chemotherapy in this population. The purpose of this study was to determine whether, in children with NF-1 without an OPG on initial magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), other potentially concerning radiographic features predict later OPG development and associated decreased vision.
