Title Indications of insecurity among psychiatric patients and the relationship of these indications to patient preferences in nursing care
Date 1962-08
Description This research was conducted in order to study the relationship between psychiatric patients' feelings of insecurity and nursing care that might be given to promote feelings of security. It is generally believed that most mentally ill patients feel insecure because of some basic needs have not been met in the past and are not being met in the present in a adequate manner. The purpose of this study was to find if preferences for certain kinds of nursing care as reported by a group of psychiatric, patients, classified as insecure on the basis of the Maslow Security-Insecurity Test, would differ from preferences reported by comparable group of patients indicated as more secure.
