Oral history interview with Bob Craig (video)

Bob Craig discusses growing up in Pueblo, Colorado. He discusses his work in leadership for Genealogical Society of Hispanic Americans. He mentions his father was the Anglo side of his family and his mother was Hispanic and was raised in New Mexico. His father served in the military, and both his mother and father worked in the medical field. He also talks about being drafted during the Vietnam war and enlisting in the Air Force, and enrolling in college for Business Administration when he was done with his service. He remembers his grandfather's farm and visiting with his cousins. He talks about the transition to using punch cards for coding and punch card readers and printers in the 1970s, and the mainframes that were used to run financial software. He discusses issues with discrimination when he was growing up, and only having Hispanic friends, and how people would view issues of identity simplistically. He talks how speaking Spanish in schools resulted in punishment, and how he lost some of his language skills as a result.
