Show The Center for Teaching & Learning Excellence is proud to announce the creation of the University Teaching Certificate Program __, UNIVERSITY Teaching Certificate Preparing the graduate student with teaching skills for multiple settings, strategies for leadership and the ability to thrive in a university setting. Meeting departmental needs for versatile and well-prepared teaching assistants ready to assume leadership positions with peers. Details ?Based on research findings about college-level teaching ?Ninety contact hours ? Interdepartmental, interdisciplinary cohort ?Weekly seminar format ?Certificate and stipend upon completion Curriculum ?Fall 2003 Skills and techniques for excellent teaching in the classroom, laboratory, and field ?Spring 2004 Leadership, scholarship, and citizenship in the teaching mission as a graduate student, and following convocation Eligibility Graduate Teaching Assistants with one year of experience teaching undergraduates, an interest in a teaching career, and with the recommendation of their department chairs, are eligible to apply for the 2004 class.
