In handling these lands the Forest Service will conform as nearly as possible with the policy, standards, organisations, and Methods of similar work on the ?Tatiuna_ Forests. As far as possible, \ the Indian reservations will be put under tho supervision of the Forest officers in charge of neighboring national Forests, but where this is i.jpo&sible, I as in h'innesota, Wisconsin and 7 ichlgan,'other officers will be assigned to this work by the'Forest'Service. The work of i the. officers on the reservations will be inspected by the inspectors of the Forest Service1, now organized in sia: dis- / tricts for the inspection of the "ational Forests. All correspondence and all matters relaxing in any way to timber contracts or timber or log sales, or logging operations or the men who handle timber work, shall in the future be reported to the Forester,\Forest Service, Washington, L.C. Any correspondence of the. nature referred to which is received by any officer of the Indian Office, except through the Forester, shall immediately be referred to the Fores.ler, It is uy desire that you co-operate with the officers of tho Forest Service and render every assistance in your power to make the plan adopted a success. You will furnish your timber employes and Government farmers each with a copy of this circular letter, and request them to co-operate with you in carrying out the plan udcL.v.cd.
