Show 0 . 105 !\l/min, the PAH6(BaP.BbF,BaA,lP,Tri and Chr) and the mutagenicity of particulates are with the strong correlation.i.e., R2 are over 0.9. as sho\\'n in figure 14 .. When oxygen supply was increased to 0.210 Nl/min, the mutagenicity \\'ere abruptly decreased and the mutagenicity of particules and PUF extracts at various stage-two temperatures were very weak or eyen negative . The reasoning v;as that P. S. was destroyed effecti\"ely and the formation of PAHs, particulates and other toxic compounds decreasely formed Vv'hen oxygen supply increased in the incineration process. To compare the mutagenicity of particles and PUF extracts and the concentrati on of PAHs, it shows that a correlation among mutagenicity and 14 PAHs for emited gas from P.S. incineration at various operation conditions was not so well, as shoVv'n Figure 15 .. The reasoning is that other toxic compound (i. e., nitro-PAHs )was formed from P. S. incineration. CONCLUSION The critical temperature was found to be about at a temperature of 1000 °e in the second-stage incinerator for the formation of PAHs and soot particles. The major precusor of PAHs formation. i.e., C6H6 is decreasely produced w hen the stage -tw 0 te m per a ture is raised to 1 ooooe w it h 0 u t supplying oxygen. The maximum concentration of PAHs and soot particle are approximate 1.3 10 ug/g-p.s. and about 41 mg at 10000e. However. the formations of PAHs and soot particles are drastically decreased to the leve I of 13.5 ug/g-p.s. and 0.2 mg/g-p.s., respectively, if the oxygen is supplied at 0.21 NL/min and temperature is controlled at 10000e. The mutagenicity of the dichloromethane extracts of the samples to salmonella typhimurium T A98 in the Ames test, when the pyrolysis temperature was increased from 900 to 1200 C,the mutagenicity of particules and PUF extracts increased . The mutagenicity of PUF extracts IS weaker than the mutagenicity of particules extracts. When oxygen IS supplied at 0.0525 l"L/min. the mutangenicity of samples were increased . Moreover. the mutagenicity is much higher in presence of rat liver - 26 - |
