Description TetraSports is a combination of products that enables patients of tetraplegia to ski and sail, both within the safety of a virtual space, and in the real world. Brought to its full potential, it aims to be a tool used all over the world to train for these activities, while using our user-friendly universal controller product for our players to use any device they're used to, whether that's a joystick, a sip and puff tube, or anything else! The Hardware Tetra involves three primary pieces of hardware, in addition to the user's choice of controllers. First, we have a ski-chair that offers incredible agility skiing down the winter slopes here in Utah. Second, we have a kayak that skips across the waves. Pulling it all together is the Tetra Universal Controller, which is able to take input from sip & puff tubes, keyboards, joysticks… even smartphones! With these devices in place, our patients are able to get outdoors and explore these exciting activities under their own control. The Software Tetra comes with two games, one to complement the ski-chair and the other for the kayak. These games offer patients a safe environment in which to practice the controls before hitting the slopes. In addition, these games allow us to collect valuable data that informs both our continued development and support for all of our product, as well as for use in medical research as we pursue recognition in the medical and technical innovation communities.
