Built in stages by three generations of the Hachijōnomiya family, the grounds include gardens, five tea houses, and the palace. It is one of Japan's most important large-scale cultural treasures.--Wikipedia. Note: Kobori Enshū (1579-1647) was a notable Japanese artist and aristocrat who designed the gardens of the Katsura Imperial Villa.--Wikipedia. Note: Chōzubachi is a vessel originally designed to keep water for rinsing one's mouth and cleansing one's body before worshiping gods or Buddhas.
