Since my report made to your excellency on the 30th of hlarch, nothing occurred of importance until I left for the Hum-boldt and Carson vdey, on the 12th May. I did not make a report for the quarter ending in June, for the reason that I was at that time en roude to Carson valley, for the purpose of visiting the unfriendlylndians in that section of the Territory. I did not conslder it important to re-port until I returned fiom the expedition, when I would be able to give a more satisfactory account of the situation of the Indians and the country, as well as my proceedimgs general>-. 1 however addressed |
