The Secretary of War writes to the Secretary of the Interior acknowledging that the Post Trader had been illegally trading with Indians along the Uncompahgre River. The Secretary of War claims that no such illegal activity will be permitted in the future and forwards to the Secretary of the Interior correspondence from C. Shwarz, E.M. Marble, R.C. Drum, E.R. Platt, Lea Febiger, D.A. Irwin, j.S. Fletcher, Major Pope, and D. Whipple regarding the incident |
