Title | A study quantifying spirometer accuracy and precision |
Date | 1994-06 |

Description | A recent project has been undertaken to conduct a comprehensive exam covering all established risk factors for coronary artery disease as part of a study to investigate the genetic and non-genetic determinants of cardiovascular disease. This project will include lung function testing where decreases in both forced vital capacity (FVC) and forced expiratory volume in 1 second (FEV1) are known risk factors for coronary artery disease. This paper covers the testing performed to ensure the accuracy and precision of the spirometers that will be used in the epidemiological study. |
