Description |
Narrow guage locomotive 499 (Class K-37), Antonito, Colorado, May 29, 1955, on an excursion train of the Rocky Mountain Railroad Club. The engineer is oiling the drive rods; the fireman is filling the tender with water and the conductor is carrying running orders gotten at the depot. #499 was converted from a 1000 class stand & gauge locomotive in 1930 at the Burnham Shops in Denver. 1000 class locomotives were used all over Colorado and Utah lines. |
