Description The discipline of neuro-ophthalmology fully entered the multi-center clinical trial business with the launching of the Optic Neuritis Treatment Trial (ONTT} in 1988 (1-4). Further trials have included funding of the Longitudinal Optic Neuritis study (LONS) in March of 1992, and the initiation of the Ischemic Optic Neuropathy Decompression Trial (IONDT) in October of 1992.
