Description Overall, saccular intracranial aneurysms occur slightly more often in women than in men, in a ratio of about 1.3 to 1. However, aneurysms are more common in males during the first 4 decades of life (70% under age 15). After the 5th decade women are affected more frequently than men, and this female predominance increases with age. Interestingly, there is a persistent male predominance in aneurysms ofthe ACA.
