"Editor's note: During the school-year I965/I966, two public lectures were delivered on the A*U,B. Campus by Professor Fayez A* Sayegh, of the Department of Political Studies and Public Administration, on two interrelated aspects of the Palestine Problem, The first lecture was delivered on 29 November 1965 at Mary Dodge Hall, in commemoration of the adoption of the "partition resolution" by the General Assembly of the United Nations eighteen years earlier. The lecture was jointly sponsored by six student societies: the Arts and Sciences Society, the Political Studies and Public Administration Society, - 1 - / > - 2 - the Arabic Society, the Debating Society, the Commerce Society, and the Biology Society* The second lecture, delivered at Assembly Hall on 12 May 1966, was the highlight of "Palestine Week", jointly sponsored by the Civic Welfar© L®agu© and the Political Studies and Public Administration Society* Th© following summary and extracts are based on tape-recordings of two lectures, which were delivered extemporaneously |
