Utah finished up competition at the Don Kirby Invitational in Albuquerque, N.M. Junior Dakota Grossman placed 10th in the mile run with a time of 5:06.73. In the 400-meter run, junior Mesa Weidle finished the race with a time of 58.03 seconds to finish in 55th place. Freshman Brooke Martin notched 63rd place after finishing with a time 59.14 seconds. Competing in the 800-meter run were freshmen Sarah Newton and Melissa Taggart, along with Grossman. Newton led the Utes after earning a top-10 finish, placing 8th with a time of 2:14.75. Grossman finished in a time to place 19th overall with a time of 2:19.07. Taggart followed behind Grossman and finished in 20th place in a time of 2:19.29. Closing out competition Saturday from Albuquerque, the Utes placed 13th in the 4x400 meter relay. The relay team consisting of Weidle, Martin, Newton, and Taggart finished the relay in a time of 3:57.20. |
