Resident catches 9-pound Squawfish, 32 inches long, was caught in the Green River along Blue Dugway, halfway to the Dinosaur Quarry Sunday by Frank Hardinger of Vernal. He used as bait a chunk of beef liver. The fish which is a favorite of Indians is called the Colorado squawfish, Colorado Salmon, Whitefish and Colorado Minnow. Some are sen below the Flaming Gorge Dam. The fish is a carnivorous predator and can be baited by mice, birds and small rabits. The largest fish previously caught weighed |
