God answers : "Choose you this day whom ye will serve." Josh. 24; 15. " All things are now ready." Luke 14; 17. " Haste thee." Gen. 19; 22. "The time is short." I Cor. 7; 29. 4. " I do not feel." Answer : It is not a question of feeling, but of fact. You are a lost sinner, not in feeling, but in fact. God saves sinners, not by feeling, or through feeling, but by iaith in His Son. God says : " Turn ye, turn ye from your evil ways; for why will ye die?" Ezek. 33; I I . " Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved. Acts fe 31. 5. " I am doing the best I can." No, you are not. No man who rejects the Son of God is doing the best he can. The men who rejected Him eighteen hundred years ago were not doing the best they could. You are doing the same unless you receive Him. God answers : " This is the work of God (the best you can) that ye believe on Him whom He hath sent." John 6; 29. " If any man love not the Lord Jesus Clirist, let him be anathema," (/. e., accui-sed). I Cor. 16; 22. 6. " I cannot believe." God answers : " He that believeth not God, hath made Him a liar." I John 5; 10. " FIov/ long will this people provoke me ? How long will it l)e ere they be- ITeve me ?" Numb. 14; 11. 7. "There are mysteries in the Bible." The word of God answers: "Without controversy, great is the mystery of Godliness," (I Tim. 3; 16); but Jesus says : " I am the way." John 14; 6. " The wayfaring men, though fools, shall not err therein." Is. 35; 8. 8. " I fear I could not hold out." God answers : " He which hath begun a good work in you will perform it, until the day of Jesus Christ." Phil. I; 6. " God is able to make him stand." Rom. 14; 4. " He hath said, I will never leave thee nor forsake thee." lieb. 13; 5. 9. " I will go home and think about it." God answers : " Behold, now is the accepted time, behold, now .is the day of salvation." II Cor. 6; 2. God does not say, "think about it," but "seek ye the Lord while He may be found, call ye upon Him while he is near." Is. 55; 6. 10. " God seems so far away." He answers : "Say not, in thine heart, who shall ascend into Pleaven ? that is to bring Christ down from above." Rom. lo; 6. "The Lord is nigh unto all them that call upon Him." Ps. 145; 18. Also, Rev. 3; 20. 11. " My heart is too hard and unfeeling." God answers : " A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you, and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh." Ezek. 36; 26. 12. " But I am a great sinner." |
