Description The story goes like this: To offically start work on the Flaming Gorge Dam, President Eisenhower call Granda Swett who then waved a towel at Grandpa, who then fired a shot that was heard at the Damsite. This set off the blast and the Dam was begun. A forest ranger is on the phone with one of the Swett sons behind them. This story is told in the Swett family scrapbook.
