Description |
Despite the high prevalence of clinical optic neuritis (CON) in multiple sclerosis (MS) and evidence of subclinical optic neuropathy (SON) in most postmortem patients, current diagnostic criteria do not consider optic nerve lesions as evidence for dissemination in space. Optical coherence tomography (OCT) may be a useful tool to confirm CON and detect SON, and therefore contribute to MS diagnosis. |
