Description Sarcoid optic neuritis may be difficult to establish, especially in those without prior diagnosis or systemic manifestations. Since sarcoidosis frequently involves the lacrimal gland, which is spared in typical demyelinating optic neuritis, we examined whether lacrimal gland size on pretreatment MRI scan might differentiate sarcoid versus demyelinating optic neuritis.
