Retinal migraines have a controversial pathophysiology; but evidence suggests that decreased blood flow to the brain and nervous system may contribute, similar to the hypothesized pathogenesis of normal tension glaucoma (NTG). Irreversible vision loss in retinal migraines has been reported, but there is limited literature regarding prophylactic treatment. |
