Here we are at Techow,and have been here a whole day and two n i g h t s , I meant to follow up your Lintsing l e t t e r with one w r i t t e n on the t t r i p here,but of coarse there was no way to write on the cart,and the noon stops were j u s t long enough to feed the mules{no that wasn' t one of our jobs) but our own lunch seemed to take just as much time. We baa things tb-we brought from home,and bought hot water far tea, The roa.ru; were pretty rough and we were glad when the two days^ria ended,although we constantly enjoyed the soft yellow green of the great willow trees,and the occasional fragrance ana beauty of an apricot orchard. The a i a t e r wheat i s about six inches / t a l l by now and such a beautiful rich green. Lirs .Tie 1 l i r a y finally decided she would coae with us, to our d e l i g h t . She is such good company, ana enjoys things. She dosen t know where* she will spend the summer u n t i l she knows the plans of the others of her family,but she will go to her s i s t e r in Berkeley,and ought to get there by the end of June or early July.
