Title |
Frankie & Johnnie's Tavern located at 3 West 4800 South |
Subject |
Murray businesses |
Description |
Grandfather Tavarozzi built this business for an Italian neighborhood market where many Murray residents remember buying spaghetti and other favorite Italian items. His daughter (Concettina) later married Mr. Joe Diana. They had four children, one of whom was Frank, who upon his return from the service and Pasadena, CA around 1947, teamed up with Mr. Joe DeNiro who financed the business venture. The name was selected for Frank and his brother-in-law, John Sumens who was married to Frank's sister, Ruby. The building was only half the size it is now when it was the grocery store. |
