Daughters of Uah Pioneers; Little Rock Tithing House |
Description |
The L.D.S. Church constructed this rock tithing building in 1878. All tithing, then generally donated in-kind, was received and distributed from this building. Meat, eggs, butter, and produce were a few of the commodities received as tithing. The produce was stored in a cellar under the building. All the tithed hay form the valley was brought to the site, weighed and stacked. Later, the old rock tithing building was moved to become part of the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers museum on the corner of 200 South and 500 West in Vernal. |
