Congratulations to the rest of the family upon his safe arrival, especially t o the boys, as this now makes the boys and g i r l s even'* Eight and a half is pretty good size for a s t a r t e r , too* Did he lose much the first Heek? We are s t i l l waiting for particulars, you see, since the card was small, though satisfactory as far as i t went* l e have been busy ever since we arrived in Portland, and have had company every minute up until t h i s last Friday* Deris' Aunt Alice Van Dyke, of Atlanta, Georgia, has been with us most of the l a s t six weeks, and a friend from Chicago spent a week here* le have certainly cohered a lot of t e r r i t o ry around this end of the state in showing them botjh the wonders of Oregon* le have been around the Ht*Eood loop twice, all over Portland and the upper part of the Willamraette Valley, and made a flying/trip to the coast and back one Sunday, clear around the loop to Eebo, Heskowin, S i l e t z , Newport, Corvallis and home again* Carrie was at Bar view for a week, and says the cabin at Manhattan looks well kept and clean, also that i t has been rented for some time to a man who i s working there* She waw GeorgeS., who said t h i s man is honest and a good worker, so I hope the cabin will begin t o bring in some cash if he stays there t h i s winter* |
