| Description |
The responsibility of planning for highway and roads within the urban area of the Region is vested in the SCDOT designated Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO). The MPO is responsible for the Sumter Urban Areas Transportation Study (SUATS), which is the transportation plan for the urbanized portion of Sumter County. The Santee- Lynches Regional Council of Governments' Board has been designated by SCDOT as the planning body to address the transportation needs for the rural portion of Sumter County and the remainder of the Region. |
