(soliciting an article of the fossils of Sweet Grass County); John W. Gibson at Newberg, Oregon; Fred D. Smith at Ely, Nevada; John and Josephine Widdecombe at Melville, Mont.; Claude O. Marcy at Missoula, Mont.; Henry N. Dion at Glendive, Mont.; E.H. Murray at Chicago; and others. Letters from Elrod concern the aftermath of the controversy over Douglass's employment by the University in 1900. Douglass continued to collect fossils for both Montana and Princeton.
