Barbee and Walker Silver Mining Company showing, from left to right, the blacksmith shop, mine hoisting works, five stamp mill, and assay office. Silver Reef was settled in 1866. Silver was soon discovered in a sandstone ledge. By the 1880s the reef was mined out and the town abandoned. |
