Remember the Maine is painted on a ledge rock at the start of Dry Fork. In 1898 the battleship Maine was blown up in Havana, Cuba, triggering the Spanish American War. Four months later William Gibson hired Leo Voight to paint Remember the Maine as a tribute to the Maine. |
