The Uintah High School Students enjoyed the Junior Prom at the Imperial Hall. As wrote by the the prom committee chairman: I just got home from the Junior Prom. I never had so much fun in all my life, danced every time though there was such a crowd I can hardly call it dancing. When first entered the hall my breath was fairly taken away, everything was so delightful. I found myself under beautiful Hawaiian skies, surrounded by waving palm trees and a low green hedge upon which blossomed tiny pink flowers. Dreamy yet lively music came from the balcony where was stationed a group of Hawaiian musicians dressed in white and wearing the official Lei wreath. They were hemmed in by trailing vines and flowers while pink and white blossoms hung from the back ceiling. As I went up to the front of the hall, I found the stage separated from the rest of the scene by a rock wall and an archway o'erhanging with flowers. I went through the archway and up the moss-covered stips to the stage, where, to my happy surprise, i discovered a lively little Hawaiian garden. There was a hedge and ferns growing at the base of each palm tree, and off to the left side, partly hid by the foilage, stood a charming , low, brown house where I received cooling refreshment in the nature of punch. Altogether, the whole scence and general aspect of the place was delightful. |
