Description Teprotumumab (TEPEZZA), an insulin-like growth factor-1 receptor inhibitor was shown to improve proptosis, diplopia, and inflammation in thyroid eye disease (TED). In the randomized controlled clinical trials, 8/84 (9.5%) of teprotumumab- treated patients reported hearing-related adverse events (AEs) which were mild or moderate in severity, versus no (0.0%) placebo patients.1,2 Hearing-related symptoms have been associated with thyroid abnormalities and autoimmunity although little is known regarding TED, specifically. Here, we discuss AE data reported through post-marketing surveillance in patients exposed to teprotumumab.
