| Description | Construction of a new Uintah Stake Center, which was to double as the ward meeting house, was begun in 1948. The building was dedicated in July 1949. The final cost of the building was $263,000. The building faces north on 400 West 100 South. The seating capacity is 400 people. A feature of the chapel was supposed to be a large mural, painted by James Jensen a Vernal artist. This painting, depicting the cross-country trek of the Mormons, hung in the tabernacle and was never transferred to the Stake Center. |
