Further Information The front side of the photograph has extensive notes written in ink and pencil. All individuals have a number written above them to reference the names of the players and who their character is on the backside of the photograph. The photograph has been pencil cropped to cut out the background and focus on the cast instead. The reasons could be various; however looking at The Utah Westminster Vol.8, No.8, June, 1922, the front page has the same picture showing the pencil cropped portion of the original photograph. The front of the actual photograph has penciled writing at the top that appears to have been erased intentionally or by time. The subject matter is vague and irrelevent as it appears to deal with the pencil cropping for the paper issue. At the bottom is written: "Cast of 'As You Like It.' 1922" On the back of the photograph is a listing of cast/characters of the play. The list goes as follows: "1. Fred Cottrell - Touchstone 2. Marian Parr - Audrey 3. Bob Marimon - Duke 4. Russell Forbes - Orlando 5. Daniel Duncan - Jaques 6. Katherine Silver - Phobe 7. Ivor Taylor - Jaques 8. Louise Kelly - Celia 9. Paul Cunningham - Oliver 10. Lyonal Brown - Amiens 11. Joe Morton - Shepard 12. Milton Hersey - Shepard 13. George Shaw - Adam 14. Izetta Funk - Rosalind 15. Harry Sherrill - William" The number "916" is written upside down in the upper right-hand corner. The following information about the production is included in The Utah Westminster Vol.8, No.8, June, 1922 page 1: "One of the most popular gatherings of the week is always the Tuesday night festival on the lawn. This year it took the form of an open air production of "As You Like It" [Shakespeare, William, 1564-1616] under the direction of the public speaking department. The crowning of the May Queen and the May Pole dance preceded the main event. For the play, unusual preparations had been made. Costumes were secured from Chicago. Portable bleachers were provided. Specially arranged footlights and scenery were aided by a flood light installed in an upper story of Converse Hall. In spite of mosquitos the large crowd enjoyed the evening to the full. An honored Princeton graduate said the play would have done credit to any American college." The condition of the photograph is worn and dirty. The efforts of matting the picture for he newspaper article are obvious on the front and lessen the quality of the photograph. The edges show signs of wear and tear.
