Utah finished the invitational with two event titles and 14 top-10 performances. Highlighting the day was the Utes performance in the 800-meter run, where the Utes earned three of the top six pots. The Utes were lead by the strong performance of redshirt senior Ali Eisenbeiss, who captured the event title after recording a time of 2:11.24. Sophomore Sadie Wassum was the next Ute to finish in fifth (2:15.85), followed closely by Dakota Grossman in sixth (2:19.37). Also earning a win in her first collegiate race was freshman Caitie Faust in the 1,000, who had a time of 3:05.18. The Utes had another solid showing in the 600-meter run. Crossing the line third overall was junior Christine Van Brocklin in a time of 1:35.03. Senior Allison Aafedt placed fourth in 1:36.35. Also racing was junior Grace Englund, who is redshirting and competed unattached, who won the race with a time of 1:34.31. The mile featured four Utes finishing in the top 20. Senior Kate Stringfellow earned second with a time of 5:03.98. Accompanying Stringfellow was junior Makenzie Clark (seventh, 5:14.78), freshman Megan Spehar (12th, 5:21.99) and Dana Snell (19th, 5:34.39). Junior Alissa Atisme had a pair of top-10 finishes, recorded a time of 7.92 seconds to earn fourth in the 60 and she finished fifth overall in the 200 with a time of 25.33. Also racing in the 60 was sophomore Madison Lanford, who placed 17th with a time of 8.13 seconds. In the triple jump, Courtney Jost captured fifth with a jump measuring 37 feet, 5.75 inches. The high jump featured true freshman Eliza Hansen placing tenth after clearing a distance of 5 feet, 1.25 inches. The 4x400-meter relay featured Atisme, Eisenbeiss, Van Brocklin and Aafedt returning to the track. The quartet finished second overall in a time of 3:52.55. |
