History Two patients, each with an intrapontine lesion in the floor of the fourth ventricle with similar clinical findings.
Pathology Pontine abscess; Neoplasm metastasis in caudal pons
Disease/Diagnosis Cystic ischemic infarct of fourth ventricle; Neoplasm metastasis of the fourth ventricle
Clinical Taste perception on both halves of the tongue and tearing from both eyes was equal; Right gaze paresis; Right-sided paralysis of upper and lower facial muscles.
Presenting Symptom Nystagmus; Ophthalmoplegia
