Description |
View of the original house owned by North American Indian (Southern Ute Tribe) Chief Ouray and his wife Chipeta (Uncompahgre Ute Tribe) on their ranch near Montrose (Montrose County) Colorado. The abandoned building is constructed of adobe brick, has a flat dirt roof supported by vigas, small windows and it is in disrepair. Near the house is the abandoned stuccoed adobe brick house built by the United States government for Ouray and Chipeta, it has a shingled gable roof, wooden gables and chimney. A teenage boy sits on a wooden crate near a rough wooden fence. Wood and logs are scattered near the building. |
