Description Detection of an antibody response to Bartonella henselae by enzyme immunoassay (EIA) is reported to be highly sensitive (84 percent) and specific (96 percent) in patients with systemic cat- scratch disease (CSD). We endeavored to determine the sensitivity of this test in patients with a convincing clinical diagnosis of CSD neuroretinitis.
