Title Interaction of Color Example 15 (Color Intervals and Transformation)
Description in this figure, a tetrachord of four juxtaposed reds is presented in three equal repetitions. The four reds are then transformed into three other hues. For a comparison of the intervals of the four tones within all four hues, the transformations are placed, in reduced size, in the centers of the three repeated red juxtapositions, now serving as grounds and thus a common measure. Although the blues may appear lighter than the surrounding reds, they are actually all darker.
