Show Maj. Ivy Takes Command Salt Lake Tribune Special to The Tribune GREEN RIVER, Emery, i County - Maj.. James M. Ivy, | IV, has assumed command of | the White Sands Missile Range test complex j near Green River. He s u c c eeds Maj. Richard H. Sc h m i d t, who will be transferred to Saigon, Viet Nam. Maj. Ivy has been chief of the Honest John, Little John, and Lance missile test branches and has served as administrative officer of the systems test division of the Army Missile Test and Evaluation Directorate' at the Green_ River range. _ ____ No stranger to missile testing, the major held two positions at the national range before his Green River assignment. His first duty was as Chief of the Honest John, Little John and Lance missile test branch, followed by assignment as Administrative Officer of the Systems Test Division of the Army Missile Test and Evaluation Directorate at the range. He has also served as chief of the Projects office at Red-stone Arsenal, Als. A graduate of Texas A & M College, Major Ivy began his Army career in 1952 serving with field artillery battalions at Fort Sill, Okla., in Korea, and at Fort Lewis, Washington, until 1958. Prior to his assignment to WSMR he had duty as chief of the Budgets and Programs Branch, .Ordnance Division, in Orleans, France. ,:i His military schooling includes the Basic Artillery I Course, Advanced Ordnance i Course, and the Surface to !
