Description |
It is the intent of this paper to do three things. Initially I will show that W. D. Falk's article I "Morality I Self and Others" argues for two levels of moral oughtness, the second level of which can illuminate the traditional position of ethical egoism and give aid in resolving some of the problems associated with that theory. I will then illustrate the traditional position of the ethical egoism and examine some of the classical criticisms against it. The final section of this paper will offer a reformatory proposal that will try to show egoism to be a genuine moral theory without changing it into another ethical system. |
