History: In August of 1975 J. Lawton Smith interviews a middle-aged lady with eye pain following several eyelid surgeries. In addition, he interviews a medical student who describes the case of her mother who had similar symptoms. Anatomy: Seventh cranial nerve or facial nerve, fifth cranial nerve or trigeminal nerve, cornea. Pathology: Exposure keratitis; Essentialblepharospasm; Central retinal artery occlusion following blepharoplasty; Differential diagnosis; Kerato conjunctivitis sicca; Infectious keratopathy; Ocular Myasthenia Gravis; Central retinal artery occlusion following blepharoplasty. Clinical: 1. Flurosceine uptake on slit lamp examination suggestive of punctate keratitis. 2. Corneal erosion on slit lamp exam. |
